Download Your Custom Content
Customers using RE/MAX edition Placester websites are eligible to download custom content from Placester until 10/15/2019.
The download option is accessed through the sites list and allows you to download the custom content that you have entered into Placester. Downloaded content does not include Placester provided content or MLS listings.
Placester is providing this option to enable you to migrate to another website vendor if you choose. The contents of the download will be familiar to your new website vendor. They will be able to assist you when migrating your site.
When you choose to download your custom content you will receive a ZIP archive containing text files corresponding to the part of your Placester site. See the File Content section below for additional details.
Downloading Your Content
You can download your custom content from the Sites list. From the App icon in the upper right-hand corner of your dashboard, go to the Leads tab.
In the site list you can download your custom content by clicking Download.
Your custom content will be downloaded to your computer in a file called export.zip.
The download option creates a ZIP archive file names export.zip that is downloaded to your computer. To view the contents of this archive follow these steps depending on your computer’s operating system.
- Right click the ZIP folder and choose Extract All.
- Select the location where you want your extracted files to appear and click Extract. Extracting to the desktop make files easier to find but don’t store them here permanently.
- Your extracted files will now appear on your desktop or in whatever location you chose in step 2.
- Double click the ZIP folder.
- Locate the new contents in the same location as the ZIP folder.
The export.zip file contains files that can be opened on any system.
Each file contains the content and settings from one part of your Placester site.
The contents of the download will be familiar to your new website vendor. Your new vendor will be able to assist you when migrating your site.
area.txt and area_v2.exe
These files contain the content from any Basic or Advanced Areas configured for your site including the title, description and search parameters for the area.
If you have multiple areas configured, each area will be separated by a line of dashes.
custom_css.txt and custom_js.txt
This file contains the web address for each image uploaded to your Placester site with each web address on a new line.
You can access an image by inputting the image’s address in any browser.
office.txt (Broker Pro)
This file contains the settings for any offices configured for your Placester site including the title, description, address and HTML content.
If you have multiple offices configured, each area will be separated by a line of dashes.
This file contains various settings configured for your Placester site in the Site Settings Area. Contents of this file include:
- Company name, address and description
- Social media account identifiers
- Lead capture settings
- Site configuration including title, company logo and favicon
This file contains the content of any blog posts configured for your Placester site including title, description, summary (excerpt) and HTML content.
If you have multiple posts each will be separated by a line of dashes.
This file contains the configuration of pages configured for your Placester site including title, template type and template-specific content.
If you have multiple pages each will be separated by a line of dashes.
This file contains the details of any testimonials for your Placester site including title, description, and HTML content.
If you have multiple testimonials each will be separated by a line of dashes.
