Editing Your Navigation Bar [Codeless]

Amber Sabio Updated by Amber Sabio

This article will show you how to customize the layout of your Placester site's navigation menu.

Regardless of the menu layout that you chose in the site setup wizard, you can always add or remove pages within your menu, adjust the order of menu items and add drop down menus.

Creating Pages

Please note that any pages you'd like to add to your menu must first be created on the back end of your site. They must also be in the Published status (not in Draft mode). Find out more about creating pages here.

In the customizer slide out click on the Navigation Bar.

Adding a Menu Item

To add a page to your menu:

1. Select the page you'd like to add to the menu from the drop down underneath the current menu items

2. Click Add

3. Click Save

Let's say you want to add your Contact page to your menu. Follow the steps below:

Changing the Order of Menu Items

To change the order of your menu items, drag and drop each item in the spot you want it in.

Creating a Drop-Down Menu

To create a drop down menu, click and drag the submenu item towards the main menu item. Drop the submenu item below and slightly to the right of the main menu item so that it becomes indented.

For example, this is how to make the Our Team page appear as a drop down underneath About Us.

Now, Agents appear as a drop down underneath About on the front end.

Using the Custom URL Menu Option

There is also an option to link to a custom URL from your menu. Learn more about that in this support article.
