Sharing Blog Posts on Social Media [Classic]

This article will show you how to share your blog posts on social media.

Why should I share my blog posts on social media?

Sharing your blog posts is a great way of driving people to your real estate website. It can remind people who have already visited your site to go back and take another look, or bring new visitors to your site. Sharing a posts on social media will automatically display it in the feed of anyone who follows you, and makes it easier to access that information than constantly checking in to a site to see if there are any updates.

How to share a blog post on social media

You can share a blog post directly from your site, either on the Blog Index page or from the blog post itself. When you've created the blog post you want to share, you'll need to go to the front-end of your site. From the Blog Index page, you can click one of the social icons at the bottom of the preview of the post.

If you're viewing the full blog post, you can find the share options at the bottom of the page.

Once you've clicked the icon of the social network you want to share to, your browser should open a pop-up window (you may be prompted to login to your social media account). This will allow you to edit the text that displays on the post. The example below shows what happens when you click the Facebook share button.

Depending on the social network you're sharing to, you'll be able to change the text of the post, remove the image and define who will be able to see the post.

Alternative Method: Copying and Pasting the URL

You can also share your posts to social media by copying the URL of the post and pasting it to the social network. This is a good option if you're having any trouble connecting to your accounts using the sharing buttons or would like to post the link on a social network that Placester doesn't integrate with directly.
