Understanding and Updating Your Business Profile

Your Business Profile

Your Business Profile gives Placester important information about your real estate business, including where you operate, what you specialize in and who you serve.

This information helps Placester’s AI-powered tools create experiences and content that are more relevant to your business. For example, Content Automation uses your Business Profile to create personalized, localized blog articles based on your business and the markets you serve.

You can review and edit your Business Profile at any time or refresh it using information from your website.

Why Your Business Profile Matters

To create content that reflects your business, Placester needs context about who you are and the clients and markets you serve.

Your Business Profile provides this context in one place. Instead of entering the same information every time you use an AI-powered feature, your profile can be used across Placester to personalize your experience.

For Content Automation specifically, your Business Profile helps guide the creation of blog articles that are relevant to your business and local market. Your operating areas, specialties, business description and target audience all provide useful context for content generation.

We recommend reviewing your Business Profile before setting up Content Automation and keeping it up to date as your business changes.

What Information Is Included in Your Business Profile?

Your Business Profile contains information about your professional identity, business and market, including:

  • Display name: The name you use publicly for your real estate business.
  • Legal name: Your official individual or business name.
  • Job title: Your professional role.
  • Brokerage name: The brokerage or organization you are associated with.
  • Business description: An overview of your business and what makes it unique.
  • Operating areas: The cities, neighborhoods and markets you serve.
  • Specialties: The types of real estate, clients or transactions you specialize in.
  • Target audience: The types of clients your business primarily serves.
  • Contact information: Your business email address and phone number.
  • Website URL: The website associated with your Business Profile.
  • Highlights: Relevant awards, credentials and other business differentiators.

How to Access Your Business Profile

To access your Business Profile:

1. Sign in to your Placester dashboard

2. Click your profile avatar and choose Profile information

 3. Go to Business Profile

From here, you can review your current information, make changes manually or refresh your profile using information from your website.

How to Edit Your Business Profile Manually

You can manually update the information in your Business Profile at any time. Manual editing is useful when you want to add information that may not appear on your website or make your profile more specific.

For example, you may want to update your operating areas after expanding into a new market or adjust your specialties to better reflect the areas of your business you want to focus on.

How to Refresh Your Business Profile From Your Website

Your Business Profile can also be refreshed using information from your website. When you choose to run 'Refresh Profile', Placester reviews the selected website and suggests updates to your Business Profile. You can compare your current information with the proposed changes before deciding what to update.

To refresh your profile:

  1. Go to your Business Profile
  2. Select Refresh Profile
  3. Choose the website you want Placester to use as the source
  4. Review your current information alongside the proposed updates
  5. Accept the changes you want to apply

Refreshing your profile does not mean that every proposed change is automatically applied. You remain in control of which information you want to use.

Accepting and Locking Profile Information

When reviewing proposed updates, you can decide how individual pieces of information should be handled.

Accept applies the proposed value to your Business Profile.

Lock protects a value from being replaced during future profile refreshes. If you lock a proposed value, it is accepted and locked. If you lock your existing value, the current information is kept and protected from future refreshes.

This can be useful for information that you want to control manually, such as a specific business description, target audience or specialty.

When Should I Update My Business Profile?

We recommend reviewing your Business Profile whenever important information about your business changes.

For example, update or refresh your profile when you:

  • Start serving a new city or neighborhood
  • Change brokerage
  • Update your business contact information
  • Add a new specialty
  • Change the types of clients you want to reach
  • Make significant updates to your website or business positioning

Keeping your profile accurate helps Placester’s AI-powered features work with the most relevant information about your business.
