Showing Open Houses, Recent Sales and Coming-Soon Listings

Using the Legacy Customizer? Legacy Customizer steps: Codeless Coming Soon Listing Page [Codeless] · Legacy Customizer steps: Custom pages for recent sales/open houses (Codeless) · Legacy Customizer steps: Open Houses- Module, Widget and Page Template

Site Edit has two page types for this. An Open Houses Index page shows the MLS listings that have an open house in the coming days. A Listings page shows MLS listings. You can set a Listings page to show only the listings of one saved filter, for example your recent sales or your coming-soon listings.

Create an Open Houses page

  1. Select Dashboard in the top menu.
  2. On the site card, select EDIT SITE. Site Edit opens with your homepage.
  3. Select Add New in the top bar. The Add New panel opens on the Pages tab.
  4. Scroll down to the page cards with the IDX tag.

The Listings and Open Houses Index cards in the Add New panel

  1. Listings: Creates a page that shows listings from your MLS.
  2. Open Houses Index: Creates a page that shows the listings with an open house in the coming days.

To put a link to the new page in the menu at the top of your site, select Add to header menu first. Then select Open Houses Index. Site Edit creates the page in your draft and shows it.

A new Open Houses page

  1. Open Houses: The title of the new page.
  2. Empty state: The message visitors see when no listing has an open house in the coming days.
  3. Settings: Opens the settings of the page you are viewing.

The page fills in from your MLS. When a listing in your MLS has an open house in the coming days, the page shows it. When no listing has one, the page shows the empty-state message.

Set up the Open Houses page

  1. Select Settings in the top bar. The Settings panel opens on This Page, on the General tab.
  2. Scroll down to Number of listings.

The General tab of the Open Houses page settings

  1. Page title: The name of the page. It is also the heading at the top of the page.
  2. Empty State: Opens the icon and the words of the empty-state message.
  3. Number of listings: How many open houses the page shows.

Move the Number of listings slider to set how many open houses the page shows. To change the empty-state message, select the Empty State tab.

The Empty State tab

  1. Icon select: Chooses the icon above the message.
  2. Headline: Changes the headline of the message. Select Edit content under it.
  3. Description: Changes the line under the headline. Select Edit content under it.

Use the message to keep visitors on your site. For example, ask them to sign up so that you can tell them about the next open house.

The Modules, Widgets and Design tabs work the same as on other pages. For more about modules, see Working with Modules.

Show recent sales or coming-soon listings

A Listings page can show only the listings of one saved filter. Make a saved filter that picks your recent sales or your coming-soon listings. Then set a Listings page to show that filter.

Saved filters are in Settings > Site > Listings > Filters & Featured Listings. In a saved filter, Selective lets you search for listings and pick them one by one.

To make the page:

  1. Select Add New in the top bar.
  2. Select Listings. Site Edit creates a page named Our listings in your draft.
  3. Select Settings in the top bar.
  4. Select the Listings tab.
  5. Under Display options, select Filtered.
  6. If the settings go back to the General tab, select the Listings tab again.

The Listings tab of a Listings page, with Filtered selected

  1. Display options: Featured shows your featured listings. Filtered shows the listings of one saved filter.
  2. Listing filter: The saved filter that chooses the listings for this page.
  3. Number of listings per page: How many listings each page of results shows.

Choose your saved filter in Listing filter. Then select the General tab and type a name in Page title, for example "Recent sales" or "Coming soon".

Publish your pages

The new pages and your changes are in your draft. The draft bar at the bottom of Site Edit shows Discard and Publish. Select Publish to put the pages on your live site, or Discard to remove the draft.

For more about drafts, see Publishing and Discarding Drafts. For the other page types, see Choosing a Page Type.
