Choosing a Blog Source for Social Automation

The Blog Source tells Social Automation which Placester website to watch for newly published blog posts. It also supplies the latest published post when you create a Blog Reel from the Social calendar.

Before you begin: The website must be active and have a blog. Social Automation watches one Blog Source at a time.

Open Blog Source

Open Content → Social → Settings, then scroll to Blog Source.

Choosing a Blog Source in Social settings

  1. Search by domain or site name: Enter either value to narrow the list.
  2. Site: Select the radio button or row for the website you want Social Automation to use.

Your selection saves automatically. There is no separate Save button.

Understand when blog posts qualify

Publishing a post on the selected website is the trigger. Content Automation is not required; a manually written and published post can also qualify.

Selecting a Blog Source establishes its current newest published post as the starting point. Social Automation does not create posts for older blog articles that were already published.

Each newly eligible article can produce an initial video and one follow-up video 48–72 hours later. Social Automation publishes no more than one blog-driven video per local day, so either video may wait when another blog video has already used that day's slot.

Change the Blog Source

Return to Blog Source and select another active website. Future blog detection and one-off Blog Reels use the new selection.

Changing the source does not move blog posts between websites or change Social posts that were already published.

If detection is paused

If the selected website is no longer active, the Blog Source card displays:

The selected source site is no longer active. Detection is paused until you choose another site.

Choose another active website to resume detection. If a newly published article still does not produce a Social post, follow Troubleshooting Social Automation.
