Creating a Custom Landing Page

A landing page is a page built around a lead form. You send people to it from an ad, an email or a social post. You choose the fields of the form, so you can ask for exactly the details you need.

Create the page

  1. Select Dashboard in the top menu.
  2. On the site card, select EDIT SITE. Site Edit opens with your homepage.
  3. Select Add New in the top bar. The Add New panel opens on the Pages tab.

The Landing Page card in the Add New panel

  1. Add to header menu: Puts a link to the new page in the menu at the top of your site. Leave it clear to keep the page out of the menu.
  2. Landing Page: Creates a new landing page in your draft.

Select Landing Page. Site Edit creates the page with a form and a title, and shows it.

To work on a landing page that you already have, select Pages in the top bar, and then select the page in the list.

A landing page in Site Edit

  1. Form heading: The heading of the lead form.
  2. Title: The page title. Select it to type a new one.
  3. Settings: Opens the settings of this page.

Choose how the page shows

  1. Select Settings in the top bar. The Settings panel opens on This Page, on the General tab.
  2. Scroll down to the switches.

The display options on the General tab

  1. General: The general settings of this page.
  2. Slider: Picks a picture for the page from your Media Library.
  3. Disable header on this page: Hides the top of your site, with its menu, on this page.
  4. Disable footer on this page: Hides the bottom of your site on this page.

Turn on Disable header on this page and Disable footer on this page to show the landing page alone. Visitors then see only your offer and the form, with no menu that takes them away. Turn on only Disable header on this page to hide the menu and keep your office details at the bottom.

Change the form

Select the Form Builder tab in the Settings panel. There you change the form heading and text, add, remove and change the fields, turn spam protection on or off, and change the message visitors see after they send the form. The steps are the same as for a home valuation page. See Creating a Home Valuation Page.

Add modules

A new landing page has no modules. You can add modules, for example text, photos or testimonials, to tell visitors more about your offer.

In the Settings panel, select the Modules tab.

The Modules tab of the page settings

  1. Modules: The modules of this page.
  2. Manage modules: Opens the Add module panel.

Select Manage modules. The Add module panel opens.

The Add module panel

  1. New: The module types you can add.
  2. Saved presets: Your saved module presets.
  3. About: A module type. The tag shows how many layouts it has.

Select a module type. Its layouts appear.

The layouts of a module

  1. One: A layout. Select it to add the module to the page.
  2. Back: Goes back to the list of module types.

Select a layout to add the module to your page. For more about modules, see Working with Modules.

Keep the page out of your menu

Most landing pages are not in the menu of the site. Visitors come to them only from your link.

  • When you create the page, leave Add to header menu clear.
  • If the page is already in your menu, remove its link in the menu. See Editing Your Navigation Menu.

The page is still on your site when it is not in the menu. The Pages list shows the address of each page under its name. Use that address in your ads and posts.

Publish the page

Your changes go into your draft. The draft bar at the bottom of Site Edit shows Discard and Publish. Select Publish to put the page on your live site. For more about drafts, see Publishing and Discarding Drafts.
