Adding Compliance Pages and Footer Links

Many websites need policy pages, such as an accessibility statement or a DMCA notice. Visitors find them in the Compliance column of your footer. This article shows the steps in Site Edit. For the policy text itself, see Accessibility and DMCA Compliance.

Create the policy page

  1. Select Dashboard in the top menu.
  2. On the site card, select EDIT SITE. Site Edit opens with your homepage.
  3. Select Add New in the top bar. The Add New panel opens on the Pages tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Default Page card.

The Default Page card in the Add New panel

  1. Add to header menu: Puts a link to the new page in the menu at the top of your site. Leave it clear for a policy page.
  2. Default Page: Creates a general page in your draft.

Select Default Page. Site Edit creates the page and shows it.

Give the page the name of the policy:

  1. Select Settings in the top bar. The Settings panel opens on This Page.
  2. In Page title, type the name, for example Accessibility or DMCA Compliance.

Then put your policy text on the page. See Editing Content on the Page. When you paste text from another document, paste it without formatting. Use Ctrl+Shift+V on a PC, or Command+Shift+V on a Mac.

  1. Scroll down to the footer of your site.
  2. Move the pointer over the links of the Compliance column. A small toolbar appears.

The Compliance column of the footer

  1. Compliance links: The links of the Compliance column of your footer.
  2. Customize Footer: Opens the Edit Footer panel.

Select Customize Footer, and then select the Compliance tab.

  4. Link 1 title: The words visitors see for this link.
  5. Links to: The page or address the link opens. Select it to choose another.
  6. ADD LINK: Adds a new link at the end of the column.

To add your policy page:

  1. Select ADD LINK. A new link appears at the end of the list.
  2. Type its title, for example Accessibility.
  3. Select its Links to box. A list opens.

The Links to list of a compliance link

  1. Start typing…: Finds a page by name.
  2. Custom URL: Links to any web address you type, for example a form on another website.

Type the name of your policy page, and select it in the list.

To remove or reorder a link, use its ⋯ button or drag it by its handle. The steps are the same as for your menu. See Editing Your Navigation Menu.

Texas agents and brokers must link two forms of the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) in their footer: the Consumer Protection Notice and the Information About Brokerage Services (IABS) form. For what to prepare, see TREC Requirements Codeless.

  2. Type its title, for example TREC Consumer Protection Notice.
  3. Select its Links to box, and then select Custom URL.
  4. Type the full web address of the form in the box that appears.

Place your MLS disclaimers
