Using the Social Calendar

The Social calendar shows Facebook and Instagram posts published from Placester. Use it to review post status and content, manage supported posts, and publish a photo or Reel immediately.

The calendar is a publishing history, not an engagement dashboard. It does not show reach, likes, comments, or other Meta analytics.

Open the calendar

Open Content → Social → Calendar.

The Social calendar month view

  1. Published posts: Select a post or a date to open its details.

Use the month arrows or Today above the grid to move between months. Each calendar entry identifies Facebook or Instagram, the media type, the local publish time, and its status. Video posts are labeled Video in the calendar. A date can show +N more, such as +2 more, when it contains more entries than fit in the month cell. Visible statuses include Published, Processing…, Failed, Deleted, and Removed on Facebook or Removed on Instagram.

Review a post

Select an entry to open the post drawer.

Review the platform, date and time, type, status, video, caption, and link to the live Meta post.

Selecting the video preview opens playback. The link beneath the caption opens the post on Facebook or Instagram.

The drawer may say that Meta updates automatically, but the calendar does not continuously poll in the background. Reopen the relevant day or post, or reload the calendar, to reconcile processing status and posts removed directly in Meta. Processing that lasts longer than 30 minutes is marked failed.

Edit a Facebook caption

For a supported published Facebook post, select Edit beside Caption, update the text, and select Save.

Select Cancel to keep the existing caption. The caption cannot be empty.

Caption editing updates the Facebook post after it has published. Instagram captions are not editable from this calendar.

Delete a published post

Open the post, select Delete, review the warning, and confirm.

Confirm the platform-specific delete action only when you want to permanently remove the post.

Deletion cannot be undone. The calendar keeps a Deleted record so you can see that the post previously existed.

Retry a failed post

Open an entry marked Failed, review the displayed error, and select Retry. Social Automation attempts that destination again.

If a post was sent to both Facebook and Instagram, check each platform entry: one destination can succeed while the other fails. Restore Page access, Instagram linking, or other Meta-side requirements before retrying.

To remove a failed attempt from the Placester calendar, select Dismiss. Dismiss does not delete anything from Meta because the failed post was not published there, and the dismissed entry no longer appears in the calendar.

Publish a post now

You can create a post only from today's date because it publishes immediately; the calendar does not schedule one-off posts for a future date. Any other date shows a note in place of the buttons.

Select today's date, then select Create photo or Create reel.

Create a photo post

Choose an image from your Media Library, write a caption, select Facebook and/or Instagram, then select Publish photo.

Creating a photo post

  1. Choose the image and caption, confirm the destinations, then publish.

Select Choose from Media Library to pick the image. After you choose one, a preview appears and the button changes to Change image so you can swap it.

Publish photo stays unavailable until the post has an image, a caption, and at least one selected destination. Unlike a Reel, a photo post uses the image as uploaded rather than a branded template, so nothing in Social settings or your Business Profile brand changes how it looks.

Create a listing Reel

Choose Listing, choose New listing, Active listing, or Sold listing, select Facebook and/or Instagram, then select Publish reel.

Creating a listing Reel

  1. Choose the listing style and destinations, then publish.

Social Automation chooses a recent listing for the requested style. This manual path does not use the automated-post listing filters. If no listing is available, confirm that the MLS or IDX feed has a recent listing of that style with usable photos.

Create a blog Reel

Choose Blog, select Facebook and/or Instagram, then select Publish reel.

Creating a blog Reel

  1. Choose Blog and the destinations, then publish.

The Reel uses the latest published post from the selected Blog Source and one of the Blog templates selected in Social settings.

Important calendar limits

  • There is no approval queue for automatic posts.
  • One-off photos and Reels publish immediately rather than at a future scheduled time.
  • The calendar only covers posts published through Placester.
  • Editing is limited to supported Facebook captions.
  • Deleting a published post is permanent.

For setup details, see Setting Up Social Automation. If an expected entry is missing or failed, see Troubleshooting Social Automation.
