Adding Testimonials and a Testimonials Page

Testimonials show what your clients say about you. Each testimonial has its own page. A testimonials page lists them, and can also show your RealSatisfied reviews. The Testimonials module shows testimonials in a section of any page. Your Site Edit changes go into a draft. Visitors see them after you publish.

Create a testimonial or a testimonials page

  1. Select Dashboard in the top menu.
  2. On the site card, select EDIT SITE. Site Edit opens with your homepage.
  3. Select Add New in the top bar. The Add New panel opens on the Pages tab.

  1. Add to header menu: Also puts the new page in the menu at the top of your site.
  2. Testimonials Index: Creates a page that lists your testimonials.
  3. Testimonial: Creates one testimonial.

Select Testimonial to add a testimonial, or Testimonials Index to create the page that lists them. For more about new pages, see Creating a New Page.

Edit a testimonial

  1. Select Pages in the top bar.
  2. Select Testimonials in the filter row.

  1. Testimonials: Shows only the testimonials.
  2. Testimonial: A testimonial. Select it to show it in the preview and open the Edit Testimonial panel.

Select a testimonial. It shows in the preview, and the Edit Testimonial panel opens. The panel has the tabs General, Design, Modules, Widgets and Details.

  1. Status: Published, Draft, Private or Scheduled.
  2. Set as featured: Marks the testimonial as featured.
  3. Details: The author, source and ratings of the testimonial.

To change the words of the testimonial, select them on the page in the preview and type. For more, see Editing Content on the Page.

Open the Details tab to change who gave the testimonial and its ratings.

  1. Author: The name of the person who gave the testimonial, for example "Chloe, seller".
  2. Ratings: The star ratings of the testimonial. Select a rating to edit its label and score.
  3. Add item: Adds a rating.

Each rating has ↑ and ↓ buttons to move it, and × to remove it. The Details tab also has Source.

Set up the testimonials page and RealSatisfied

  1. Select Pages in the top bar.
  2. Find your testimonials page. Its label is TESTIMONIALS INDEX PAGE.
  3. Select Page settings (the gear) next to the page. The settings open on the General tab.
  4. Scroll down to the testimonial controls.

  1. Enable Placester testimonials: Shows the testimonials you add in Site Edit.
  2. Enable RealSatisfied testimonials: Shows your RealSatisfied reviews.
  3. Custom RealSatisfied's Vanity Key: Your RealSatisfied vanity key.
  4. Enable RealSatisfied Company Feed: Shows the reviews of your company feed in RealSatisfied.
  5. Sort options: The order of the testimonials on the page.
  6. Enable custom order: Lets you put the testimonials in your own order.

To show your RealSatisfied reviews, turn on Enable RealSatisfied testimonials and type your vanity key in Custom RealSatisfied's Vanity Key.

The General tab also has Number of testimonials per page, Enable Testimonial Tree testimonials and Set this page as main. The Sort options are Alphabetical - Title, Publish date and Random.

Show testimonials on any page

The Testimonials module shows your testimonials in a section of a page.

  1. Open the page in the preview.
  2. Select Add New, then select Module. The Add module panel opens.
  3. Select Testimonials. The panel shows its three layouts.

  1. One: A layout of the module. Select a layout to add the module to the page.
  2. Back: Goes back to the list of module types.

Select a layout. Site Edit adds the module to the page. For more about modules, see Working with Modules.

Publish your changes

Each change goes into your draft. The draft bar at the bottom of Site Edit shows Unpublished changes with Discard and Publish. Close the open panel, then select Publish to show your changes to visitors, or Discard to undo all of the draft.
