What Is Upgraded Property Search?

Page_DownPage_DownPage_DownPage_DownPage_DownPage_DownPage_DownPage_Down

Upgraded Property Search is a new search layout for your Placester website's Search Results Page. Instead of the old horizontal filter bar, buyers now open a single filter panel that slides in from the right side of the screen. On desktop, it opens as a panel next to your results, with the rest of the page dimmed behind it. On tablet and mobile, that same panel expands to fill most of the screen. Either way, it comes with a price histogram and a live count of matching homes.

It's modeled on the filter experience you'd see on sites like Redfin: grouped, scannable filter sections instead of everything crammed behind a single "More filters" button.

Why it matters

  • Easier filtering for buyers. Price, beds and baths, property type, home features and location filters are organized into clear sections instead of hidden behind "More filters."
  • A visual price range. A price histogram shows users how listings are distributed across price ranges, so they can drag a slider or type in exact numbers to narrow results.
  • A live result count. A "See X homes" button shows how many listings match the buyer's filters before they commit to viewing results.
  • A better mobile and tablet experience. On smaller screens, the filter panel expands to fill the most of the screen instead of just sitting alongside your results.
  • Works alongside AI Search. If AI Search is turned on for a site, buyers can describe what they want in plain language, then fine-tune with Sidebar Filters.

What buyers can filter by

Depending on what your MLS supports, buyers can narrow listings by:

  • Listing type (for sale or for rent)
  • Price (with the histogram and slider)
  • Number of beds and baths
  • Property type
  • Status
  • Square footage and lot size
  • Year built
  • Home features
  • Time on market
  • County, city, state and neighborhood
  • Architectural style
  • Schools

Your website's current filter layout is called Classic. Upgraded Property Search is a second layout option you can turn on for your site. Turning it on doesn't remove or change any of your listing data. It just changes how buyers interact with your search filters.

  • New Placester websites come with Upgraded Property Search turned on by default.
  • Existing websites keep their current Classic layout until you switch it.
  • You can switch back to Classic at any time.

Who has access to this

Upgraded Property Search is available today on current Placester websites with a Search Results Page. It's free to turn on and doesn't require any extra setup beyond a toggle in your Sites Customizer.
