Button Placement Options

You can choose where the AI Search button appears on the search form:

  • Below form: This option provides a full-width row beneath the main search controls (default).
  • Beside submit: Place the button inline next to the desktop search button.
  • Above filters: Position it above the purchase-type/save-search row.

Button Styling

Additionally, you can customize the appearance of the AI Search button:

  • Button color: The button color will match your site’s button palette (default is a gradient).
  • Button style: Choose from options like solid, outline, etc. (default is solid).

All changes you make will be previewed live in the Customizer before you publish.

Verifying AI Search Functionality

Once you've customized the settings, it's crucial to ensure that everything is working as expected. Here’s how to verify:

On the Live Site

  1. Open the Listings Search page.
  2. Confirm that the AI Search button is visible.
  3. Click the button, enter a test prompt, and click Apply Filters.
  4. Check that the filter chips update and the results change accordingly.

In the Customizer

  1. Toggle AI Search off; the button should disappear in the preview.
  2. Toggle it back on and experiment with each placement option.
  3. Publish your changes when you are satisfied.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter any issues, here are some common visitor-facing messages and what they mean:

  • "Rate limit exceeded": This means too many AI searches were conducted in a short window; wait a minute and try again.
  • "Daily AI search limit reached": Your site's daily cap has been hit; please try again tomorrow.
  • "Unable to apply AI search right now": This could indicate a temporary backend or OpenAI issue; retry or consider using manual filters.
